When something looks wrong
A row shows no details
The row is a Restricted item: you can't browse that issue in Jira, so the app hides its details and keeps the row only to hold issues under it that you can see. If you need access, ask the project's admins.
Rule results look old
Open Panels, then Rules, and select Refresh results. Large rules take a little while to rebuild. An issue that just changed in Jira moves to its new place shortly after.
A notice says a limit was reached
The app keeps what the rule built so far. Narrow the rule, for example with a JQL condition, or ask the site's admins to raise the rule limits. You can't raise the limit of 2,500 issues per hierarchy, so split the work across several hierarchies, or nest one in another with Add another hierarchy.
Some rule results are hidden
When the app can't check in time which rule results you may see, it hides them so that it doesn't show too much. The line next to the row count says when this happens. Reload the page after a moment.
You can't move, add or remove rows
Check whether one of these applies:
- Your access to the hierarchy is View only.
- A transform is in use, Hide done is on, or Find rows shows only the matching rows. A note above the tree says which, with Show all rows to go back.
- The rows were placed by rules. Moving them changes Jira instead. See Moving rows that rules placed.
- The site has no valid license key, so every hierarchy is read-only.
A search with treecraftHierarchy finds less than expected
Open Help, then Query troubleshooting, and check the hierarchy. Search may be off for it, the tree query may not read, or Jira search may still be catching up. Jira search only ever shows issues you can browse. See Query troubleshooting.
The app says you have no access
Your Jira admin decides who can use the app and which projects show it, in App access. A project's own admins can also turn the app off on that project's pages.
Jira is limiting requests
When Jira limits the app's requests, the app tells you how many minutes to wait. Background refreshes use at most 80% of the hourly allowance of API points, which leaves the rest for people's pages. Once they have used their share, they wait for the next hour. Admins can see the use per hour in Jira API points.
The app is updating
After a new version is installed, the page may say that the app is updating. This takes about a minute, and the page then carries on by itself.
