User manual
TreeCraft: Issue Hierarchies arranges Jira issues from any project into trees you save, share and keep up to date with rules. This manual covers the whole app. It is for the people who build and use hierarchies and for the Jira admins who run it.
Terms used in this manual
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Hierarchy | A saved tree of rows, with its own name, owner and access list. |
| Row | One line of the tree. A row shows one item: an issue, a folder, a memo, a planning item, a rule or a group that a rule made. The same issue can sit in several rows and in several hierarchies. |
| Rule | A row that builds part of the tree from Jira data, such as the issues of a JQL query or the children of each issue, and keeps it up to date. |
| Transform | A filter, sort, grouping or extension that changes only what you see. Everyone else still sees the hierarchy as it is. |
| View | A saved set of columns, which you can keep for yourself or share. |
| Write-back | A change the app makes in Jira from the hierarchy, such as setting a field to a total. You see a preview first and can undo the run. |
| Tree query | A short query that picks rows by where they sit in the tree, for example children of key = PLAN-1. |

The app follows each person's Jira language: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Japanese or Hindi. This manual uses the English labels. Forge has no Hindi locale, so for people who use Jira in Hindi, Jira's own names for the app's modules (the project tab, the issue panel, the gadgets) stay in English.
