Terms of service

Effective October 16, 2026

The short version

  • A license lets everyone on one Jira Cloud site use the app, for good.
  • Your data is yours. It stays in your Jira site, and we don't access it.
  • We work hard to make the app reliable, but we provide it as is and you use it at your own risk. We accept no liability for any damage.
  • Use the free trial to make sure the app fits. Purchases are final and not refundable.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between PluginCraft enr. ("PluginCraft", "we", "us"), an enterprise registered in Québec, Canada, and you, the organization or person using our products ("you"). They cover the Craftline Hierarchy app for Jira Cloud (the "app"), its license keys and trials, our support, and the website at plugincraft.ca.

You accept these terms when you install the app, enter a license key, or pay for a license. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm that you're allowed to bind it.

A source code license is sold under its own written agreement. If that agreement and these terms disagree, that agreement wins.

2. Your license

When you buy a site license and we send you a key, we give you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on the one Jira Cloud site the key was issued for. Anyone with access to that site may use the app, for your own internal business purposes.

A license key works only on its site. If you move to a new Jira Cloud site, write to us and we'll reissue the key for the new site at no charge, as long as the old site stops using it.

Without a valid license or trial, your hierarchies stay readable and exportable, but nobody can change or create them.

3. Trials

A trial key lets you use the full app for 30 days. Each site can have up to three trials. Trials are free and come with no obligation to buy.

4. What you agree not to do

5. Fees and taxes

The price is the one in our quote or invoice. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless the invoice says otherwise. Sales taxes such as the GST and QST are added where they apply. Invoices are due within 30 days.

All sales are final. Fees are not refundable, in whole or in part, including if you stop using the app. The free trial is there so you can make sure the app fits your needs before you buy.

6. Updates and support

We release fixes and improvements from time to time. Atlassian delivers them to your site. We may change or remove a feature, for example when Atlassian changes its platform, but we won't take away the core purpose of the app you paid for.

Support is by email at plugincraft.support@gmail.com. We answer as quickly as we reasonably can, usually within two business days. We don't promise fixed response or resolution times unless we agree to them in writing.

If we ever decide to stop offering the app, we'll tell license holders at least 90 days ahead.

7. Your data

Everything you create with the app belongs to you. The app stores it in Atlassian's Forge storage for your Jira site, and it does not send it to us. You are responsible for what you put in it and for keeping the backups you need.

Write-backs and other bulk changes modify Jira issues on your instructions and as the person who starts them. The app shows a preview and lets you undo a run, but you are responsible for checking a change before you apply it.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

8. Atlassian's platform and usage limits

The app runs on Jira Cloud and Atlassian Forge, which Atlassian operates. Your use of Atlassian's products is governed by your agreement with Atlassian. We don't control Atlassian's services and aren't responsible for their outages, limits or changes. If a change by Atlassian makes a feature impossible to offer, we may remove it.

Atlassian limits how many requests each app may make to Jira in a given period, as described in Atlassian's rate limiting documentation. When the app reaches that limit, Jira refuses its requests until the limit resets. The app then pauses: pages may say Jira is limiting requests and ask you to try again a little later, and a write-back run may stop part way and report the changes it has not made yet.

To leave room for the people using it, the app spreads its own background work (refreshing rule results, keeping Jira search up to date, counting totals) over time and holds part of it back when Jira's limit gets close. On a busy site, a hierarchy may therefore take a while to reflect a change made in Jira. Work that hides an issue someone can no longer see is never held back.

The app also caps the size of what it handles, such as the number of rows in a hierarchy, the issues a rule may add and the number of rules, so that it stays within what Jira and Forge allow. When a cap is reached, the app keeps what it has built and says which limit was hit.

Atlassian sets its limits and may change them at any time, and we may adjust the app's own caps to match. These limits, and the delays, pauses and partial results they cause, are part of how the app works. They are not a defect and do not entitle you to a refund or any compensation.

9. Ownership

PluginCraft owns the app, its code, its documentation, this website and our names and logos. Apart from the license in section 2, these terms give you no rights in them. If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.

10. No warranty

The app, the website and our support are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. No liability

You use the app, the website and our support at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, PluginCraft is not liable for any damage of any kind arising from their use or from being unable to use them, whether direct or indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive. This includes any loss or corruption of data, any change made to Jira, and any loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill, even if we were told such damage was possible.

If a court decides that some liability cannot be excluded despite this section, that liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for intentional or gross fault, for bodily or moral injury caused to a person, or any right a consumer has under the law that cannot be waived by contract.

12. Ending the license

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

We can end your license only if you seriously breach these terms and don't fix the breach within 30 days after we tell you about it in writing.

When a license ends, you must stop using its key. Sections 7 to 11, 13 and 14 continue to apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes before the courts of Québec, unless the law gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring it in your own district. Before going to court, we both agree to try to settle the matter in good faith by email for at least 30 days.
