Getting started
TuneCraft is not on the Atlassian Marketplace yet. Once it is listed, install it from there, open it from Jira's Apps menu, and follow the Setup guide on the Welcome page. This page shows where the app appears and what the first scan needs.

Install the app
Once TuneCraft: Automation & Site Cleanup is listed, a Jira admin installs it from the Atlassian Marketplace, which starts a free trial. If the site has no active licence, a Jira admin can start the trial or buy a licence in Apps > Manage apps. See Licence and trial.
TuneCraft runs on Atlassian's Forge platform. It sends nothing outside Atlassian. See Privacy and data.
The three places it appears in Jira
| Page | Where | Who can open it |
|---|---|---|
| Global view | Apps > TuneCraft, with one entry for each tool in Jira's sidebar | Jira admins, and the groups they allow |
| Settings | Jira settings > Apps > TuneCraft settings | Jira admins only |
| Project view | Project settings > Apps > TuneCraft | That project's admins, unless a Jira admin turns it off |
The global view opens on All tools: a card for each tool with one number, its unit, and whether it is measured or estimated. Needs your attention lists each tool's most important finding, worst first, with a Review button.
Every page has a rail on the left. The rail's first group, Get started, holds Welcome and Help. TuneCraft follows the site's light or dark theme and the language of each person: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Hindi.
The Setup guide
The Welcome page has a Setup guide with these steps. Each shows Done or To do.
- Check the licence. TuneCraft works during a free trial and with a paid licence.
- Export your automation flows. In Jira settings, open System, then Global automation. Choose ••• (top right), then Export flows, Next and, once Jira has prepared it, Done. Jira downloads a JSON file. Only Jira admins can export every flow. The Open Jira automation button opens that page.
- Scan the export. Open Scan and choose the exported files. See Automation.
- Check your plan. TuneCraft reads the plan's users from Jira when a Jira admin opens it. A Jira admin checks the plan in Plan and allowance, so the Overview can compare your steps with what the plan includes. The Set the plan button opens it.
Welcome also holds What's new, the list of changes in each version.
Turn on background checks
The tools other than Automation read Jira's configuration by themselves. They read nothing until a Jira admin turns on their background checks, either with Turn on on the tool's card or in the tool's settings. The first reading starts within the hour. On a large site it takes hours or days, because TuneCraft stays within a budget of Jira API points. See Limits and troubleshooting.
Labels is the exception: it reads Jira's labels each time you open it and keeps none.
What to do first
- Scan your automation export, with the audit log if you have it.
- Set the plan in Plan and allowance.
- Turn on the background checks of the tools you want.
- Open All tools and review Needs your attention.
