Access

Jira admins always have full access to TuneCraft, and they choose which groups can open the global view and whether project admins see their own project. Every call is checked on the server, never only in the page.

On this page

Who can do what

Person What they can do
Jira admin ("Administer Jira" permission) Everything: the global view at the Manage level, all the tools, and the settings.
Group at the Manage level Read the reports and findings, scan exports, download fixes and send notices.
Group at the View level Read the reports and findings.
Project admin In the project view, see and fix the flows that run only in their project, if a Jira admin allows it.

A person in several allowed groups gets the highest level. The tools other than Automation (Fields, Filters, Labels, Spaces, Schemes and Limits) are for Jira admins only.

App access

A Jira admin opens App access in Jira settings > Apps > TuneCraft settings. The page has two parts.

Global view. Jira admins come first and are marked Always. Below them each allowed group appears with its level, View or Manage. To add a group, type in Add a group and pick it from the list. A new group starts at View. Change its level to Manage if it should also scan and fix. Remove takes a group out. Select Save to apply the change.

Project view. Two boxes:

  • Let project admins see and fix their own project's flows, in Project settings > Apps > TuneCraft. They see only flows that run in their project alone.
  • Let them send notices to the owners of their project's flows.

A change reaches every instance of the app within 30 seconds.

The project view

In Project settings > Apps > TuneCraft, a project admin sees Flows and findings: the flows that run only in that project, the ones that could save the most first, with their findings, their fixes and their cost in steps. The numbers come from the last scan and are estimates. A flow that runs in several projects, or the whole site, appears only in the global view.

When access is refused

A person who may not open a page sees one sentence that says why and who can change it, for example "You don't have access to TuneCraft. A Jira admin can give your group access in TuneCraft settings." If Jira cannot confirm what a person may do, TuneCraft refuses and says so: it never guesses in the person's favour.

TuneCraft never shows who is in a group. It shows only where a group is granted. See Schemes.
